3 Ways to Get Fit at Seed Resort during Your Stay

You’ve escaped to Seed Resort, Rote Island for the ultimate barefoot luxury experience. Kick back and unwind whilst soaking up the panoramic views across the Indian Ocean and Timor Sea. You are here to indulge in nature, sunsets and remote island living. But why not add an element of wellness to your trip; mind, body and soul rejuvenation. We aren’t suggesting your stay with us here at Seed Resort resembles boot camp – far from it. We want to allow you the chance to experience all things innately good for you and your body; from better sleep, to long relaxing days, to a healthier mind, and an even healthier body. Here are our 3 top tips to get fit at Seed Resort during your stay:

YOGA

Our stunning yoga Shala sits in the middle of Seed Resort, a rustic build with traditional thatched roofing and fresh sea air billowing throughout. Offering a space of total peace and tranquillity, our yoga Shala can be utilised for group or one-one-one classes or even private sessions to meditate and practise on your own.

From toning to strength, calorie burning to sweating; yoga is an incredible way to get fit or remain fit whilst enjoying your holiday here on Rote Island. Sunrise yoga or even sunset we couldn’t recommend this as a non-overpowering way of keeping in shape during your stay.

There are a huge range of benefits to yoga, please read our blog on this:

SURFING

One of the best things about surfing is that it’s approachable for everybody—wherever you come from you can find success on your board out on the water. Surfing is also a life-changing activity that requires no prior experience to learn quickly. The best part about surfing is that it has lasting effects that carry over into nearly all aspects of life. Below, we present to you why surfing is the best way to stay in shape. First, the obvious: it is a full body workout. Nearly every move you make while out on the water requires a combination of strength and cardio.

But don’t worry you don’t need to be ultra-fit to get started. In fact, you don’t have to be in perfect shape to surf or even start surfing. All it requires is energy and motivation. Being near “blue spaces” increases the benefits of physical exercise because water generates negative ions. These negative ions increase our ability to absorb oxygen while improving our concentration.

We offer group or private surf lessons for beginners at some of the best surf spots on Rote Island. In addition, we offer boat trips for the more experienced surfer to the big wave spots!

PADDLE BOARDING

Yet another water sport activity we offer here at Seed Resort is the awesome paddle boarding which happens to also be an excellent workout. Few activities provide such an extensive range, from upper body training to leg work and core strength building. At the same time, it’s also a fairly low-intensity and fun thing to do.

What you get out of stand-up paddle boarding depends on what you put in; the more you go at it, the more you’ll burn. But even a casual spin can churn through 430 calories in the space of an hour. That’s about double the figure you’d burn on a moderately-paced walk over the same time period.

Not only is it enjoyable, it is a fantastic way to experience the magical beauty of the ocean or lakes nearby – gliding across the water you get a different outlook on the nature surrounding you. Turn your paddle board frolic in the Indian Ocean in front of Seed Resort into a paddle board tour and experience the wonders around you whilst having an insane workout!
